Nobel laureates of 2007
The Nobel Foundation started in 1900 based on the will and testament of Alfred Nobel written on 27th November 1895. As per his wish, the award should be given to those who make outstanding contributions to the mankind in the five areas, Physics, Chemistry, Medicine or Physiology, Literature, and Peace, while Economics category added later in 1968.

The Passing of Two Icons
Two famous families are mourning the passing of two icons on this date. Farrah Fawcett went to join real angels today after a long battle with cancer and Michael Jackson, the Gloved One, also had his final curtain call today.

African-American History Month and White Privilege
As I am sure you are aware, February is African-American History Month in the United States. This is the time of year when most schools will present some program to their students discussing Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and maybe Rosa Parks.

Is Google Killing the News?
I am a massive Google fan. I think they have done more to open up the web and unlock the information on it than any other company. It's all very well having browsers and content but finding what you need in the morass is what has made the web exciting, to my mind.
